Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, Director General Air Operations (DG Air Ops), Indian Air Force, said, "I have no doubt that we achieved total surprise and those strikes across nine terror hubs left more than 100 terrorists killed, including high-value targets like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rouf and Mudassir Ahmed. The targets were selected very carefully".

Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti said that our air defence preparedness ensured there was no damage on the ground during shelling by the Pakistani Army on May 7. "What we found on May 8 and 9 nights, starting as early as 22:30 hours, our cities had a mass raid of drones, UAVs, UCAVs. On May 7, they sent UAVs. However, on the 8th, lesser number of UAVs were used and more numbers of copters were sent for surveillance or harassment of civilians," he said.
